Brighten the room and bring history to light with the 1699 Weathervane Lamp. It's a handsome, distinctive accent for the kitchen buffet, side table, or bookshelf. The earliest American weathervanes date from the 1600s and descend from banner vanes originating in the middle ages, when feudal lords had their coats of arms shaped in metal and placed atop their castles. This vane, commemorating the year Williamsburg was founded, is inspired by banner-style vanes on several of the town's most historic buildings.
James Tarpley was an 18th-century merchant on Duke of Gloucester Street whose store offered a wide variety of goods to townspeople and the many travelers passing through for business. The WILLIAMSBURG Tarpley Collection by Park Designs includes handsome casual dinnerware, artisanal flatware, woven and hand-printed textiles, and repurposed decorative objects, all inspired by the first working kitchens and inns in America, and by artifacts in the collections of Colonial Williamsburg.
