Rich deep blue sodalite stone set in sterling silver leaves with white topaz crystals make these wirehook Brandy Sodalite earrings a timeless addition to any jewelry collection. 1" drop.
Inspired by a "Brandywine Bowl" made by American Silversmith Benjamin Wynkoop (1675-1751) in New York, now in the collection of Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, this new collection is made with blue sodalite and white topaz set in sterling silver. Brandywine bowls have a history of being used to serve a special treat, which would have been filled with raisins and brandy to be shared on festive occasions such as the successful delivery of a new baby, a wedding or even death where family & friends are gathered. This bowl was probably made for Warner Van Iveren (Yveren) and Anna Pruyn, who married on June 8, 1696, in Albany, New York.
