In the 18th century, a "shrub" was a drink consisting of sugar, vinegar, and an infusion of fruits, spices, or other flavors. This conical tavern shrub glass would make the perfect gift for a foodie or mixologist wizard in the mood for some colonial cocktails. Cheers!

Love these cute little glasses.

Mom and Dad have been coming to Williamsburg since 1964 on their honeymoon. Mom has always wanted these little shrub glasses so this year I bought her four for Christmas. I am order at least four maybe six more. Great for juice in the morning or even Champagne. Especially love the signature "W" on the base. Really makes it special as our last name starts with W too.

inferior quality

Very disappointed in the quality. I ordered 8 small tavern glasses. These are nothing like the 4 glasses we purchased years ago. Out of the box, they have a cloudy oily film all over the surface and the glass is much thicker than the ones I have. I don't know what the film is but I have experienced this with other low quality glassware. The glasses become filmy after you wash them and put back in the cabinet. Also do not like the "W" that seems to be etched in the base. Couldn't send them back fast enough.

Set of 4

A set of four has made a great gift several times. The shops down Duke of Gloucester St. (?) have them in boxes of four from the manufacturer. I could have sworn there was a year when the smaller glasses (5 1/2" tall x 2 1/2") were of a thicker glass. The last set I bought was June 2017 and they were the thinner ones which are just more aesthetic. Wrapped in the Gazette-papers found in the shops the glasses make a unique gift.
