Old Stitch Brown Ale Mustard offers a taste of history, to enjoy with hotdogs, sandwiches, or on anything else you like with mustard. Popular in 18th-century England and her colonies, mustard was used as whole seeds or ground into a powder, called flour of mustard. Once ground, the powder was rolled into balls and sold to be mixed with water, wine, or beer to form a paste. Our spicy Old Stitch Mustard is made with a brown ale craft brewed in Williamsburg, Virginia from an 18th-century recipe. A dark and unfiltered brew, Old Stitch Brown Ale was awarded first place in the brown ale category at the 2014 U.S. Beer Tasting Championship in Manchester, New Hampshire. Seasonally Colonial Williamsburg's Historic Foodways staff demonstrates how Old Stitch and other historic beers were brewed in early America. 9 oz.
Old Stitch is an old English brown ale crafted from an 18th-century recipe for Colonial Williamsburg taverns by Williamsburg AleWorks. In the 18th century, patriots contemplated revolution as they savored their meals and hoisted pints of ale in taverns in Virginia's colonial capital. Today, Colonial Williamsburg's historic taverns serve the hearty and distinctive fare that sustained the Founding Fathers — with contemporary flair and Southern hospitality in authentic surroundings.
