Top off your favorite outfit with colonial style. This charming Patriot Red Decorated Men's hat would have been a colonial gentleman's standard accessory. Throughout most of the 18th century, the three cornered "cocked hat" was the prevailing style for men's headgear. (The word "tricorn" was not used until the 19th century.) At various times, plumes, ribbons, gold or silver braid, and cockades were used to decorate the hats.
Advertisements in the Virginia Gazette indicate colonial merchants and milliners offered a "large and fashionable assortment" of caps, hats, and bonnets for sale in their shops. Imported hats, plain or decorated with trimmings, were available for both ladies and gentlemen.

Buy for yourself or for your grandchildren! It is a great way to show honor for our fellow American long gone❤️

I have three of these lovely hats that I purschased a long time ago during just one of my visits to Colonial Williamsburg. When I was there, I also purschased the decorative buttons that are sewn on the side. These hats are of the greatest quality and neither of mine have changed color or anything. They look just as new as when I purshased them., so if your on the fence about buying one no worry you will never regret it!! I miss Williamsburg!! I want to visit soon if I can.❤️
