Decorate in classic colonial style with this heirloom-quality full-bonnet highboy. A masterpiece of baroque furniture design, the Bruton highboy adds an imposing presence to the room. Distinctive features include ornately curved pediments, cabriole legs and hand-carved ball-and-claw feet. An elegant example of the rich furniture designs en vogue by mid-18thcentury, the Bruton highboy is as useful and beautiful today as it would have been centuries ago. It is named for Bruton Parish Church, constructed in Williamsburg, Virginia, between 1712-1715.
The fine attention to detail and superior craftsmanship of a 6th-generation furniture maker have resulted in a chest that will last for generations to come. Crafted of solid mahogany, each leg is hand-turned on a lathe, and the distinctive feet are hand-carved. Drawers are hand-carved on top and base with a beaded edge hand-applied by a skilled craftsman.
