Product Description
This Williamsburg-exclusive is a fun twist on a Christmas classic! Carrying a blanket and three wine bottles in a crate labeled "Williamsburg," this Santa chalkware figurine offers a bit of holiday merriment and evening fun. While both the idea of Santa Claus and decorating the home are not true to Williamsburg in the 18th century, they are a fun, romanticized idea of what Christmas could have been like in that place and time. The tradition of chalkware figurines reflects the collections of Colonial Williamsburg's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum.

Inspiration
Each piece begins in an antique chocolate mold from the Vaillancourt collection but is then re-sculpted with a Colonial Williamsburg holiday motif. A new mold, made from the re-sculpted piece, is filled with a plaster-like substance and dried. The resulting "chalkware" is then hand-painted, bringing to life the mold maker's intricate artistry and the festivity of Colonial Williamsburg's holiday season.
