Fatwood Fire Starter, 10 Lb Box
Fatwood is a natural source of kindling used at Colonial Williamsburg to help light the cressets that line Duke of Gloucester street in the evening during special events such as Independence Day and Grand Illumination. We use fatwood to light fireplaces and hearths in some of our Historic Area buildings during the cooler months. Now you, too, can use the same fatwood at home with this 10 Lb Box of Fatwood Fire Starter from Plow & Hearth!
The resins in fatwood occur naturally in the wood, ignite quickly, and burn intensely. All you need are two pieces of fatwood to get your fireplace, wood stove, backyard fire pit, or campfire going.

Just two pieces of fatwood are enough to start an average-size fire. Do not use with other fire accelerants - all you need is a match. Follow all safety instructions provided by your fireplace, wood stove, or firepit manufacturer or according to campground rules. Do not use in areas where open flames or non-essential burning are prohibited, such as locations in areas of drought. Always clear areas around your fire of flammable materials.
