As an 18th-century Colony of the British Empire, Colonial Williamsburg served as a port of call for ships from all corners of the world, and the menu at James Shield's Tavern reflects those global influences. A customer would find molasses, sugar, and rum from the West Indies; wines from Portugal, Spain, and France; coffee from Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean; tea from Asia; lemons and limes from the Caribbean; and spices from all over the world. With gracious service and lively entertainment, Shields Tavern offers a glimpse into the cosmopolitan nature of the British Colonies.

I've been using Colonial Williamsburg tavern plates and bowls since I first purchased them on site in the mid-1980's. I absolutely love them. I'm still using the ones I bought way back then. They are sturdy, microwave and dishwasher safe, You cannot go wrong with these pieces. Don't hesitate to purchase them.
What a joy to make breakfast a story in history! Rather than some comic book characters for your cereal bowl, how about a study of Colonial Williamsburg for the "little ones" before they begin their day of school at home or in school?
Love the artwork on this set of tavern ware! We have purchased items from this line for 3 years now for employee holiday gifts, trying to build complete sets for them. These are durable, sturdy iron ware ceramic. We hope this collection will not be discontinued.
