Inspiration
This snowman figurine reflects the collections of the award-winning Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum — the oldest institution in the United States dedicated solely to the collection and preservation of American folk art. Each Vaillancourt piece made exclusively for Colonial Williamsburg begins with an antique chocolate mold that is re-sculpted with a Colonial Williamsburg holiday motif. The new mold is filled with a plaster-like substance and dried. The resulting chalkware is then hand-painted, bringing to life the mold maker's intricate artistry combined with the festivity of Colonial Williamsburg's holiday season.
