Inspiration

A doll quilt dated 1700-1800 in the Colonial Williamsburg archives (object #2004-137) inspired the design of this WILLIAMSBURG Vintage Vinyl Floorcloth by Spicher & Co. The doll quilt was pieced together from Indian mordant-painted and resist-dyed printed textiles to resemble a palampore with a central floral vine and bordering geometric and floral patterns on all four sides.
