Inspiration
The pineapple motif appears on many antiques and objects in the Colonial Williamsburg collections. Christopher Wren, English architect and astronomer, added pineapples to London columns and John Carter, former Secretary of the Colony of Virginia, added them to his colonial estate at Shirley Plantation.

Handsome lamp, elegant shade. Pineapple theme extends from base to finial, a nice touch. Weighty, will never tip. That it can take a three-way bulb makes it useful for a night light or bright light. I recommend it. Packed well for shipping, a box within a box with a lot of bubble wrap, shade in a box of its own.
