The same great root beer served in Colonial Williamsburg taverns and restaurants, Chowning's Tavern Root Beer evolved from a colonial beer made by boiling the roots of sassafras, dandelion or licorice to extract their pungent flavors. The brew of 200 years ago was then sweetened and fermented in wooden casks. A wonderful flavor!

Always great tasting and brings Williamsburg memories to mind....
My family loves this root beer and order it as much as we can afford. It is the best root beer around. As long as we can afford to order it, we will continue to do so because it's that good! I'm really hoping the price doesn't go up to the point we cant afford to buy it anymore.
My family loves Chownings root beer. We try to buy it as often as we can afford. It is the best root beer! We strongly recommend it to all of our friends and family!
Texans are finding this root beer to be very enjoyable. We are creating fun adventures as we remind friends of childhood memories. When did you last have a root beer float with a wonderful root beer? Enjoy!!!
Purchased as a Father's Day gift for my husband. He is thrilled with the root beer. It is absolutely the best.
It’s a tradition in my house to have Williamsburg root beer with thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. It came fast and always enjoy the taste of it. Brings me back to visiting colonial Williamsburg
Chownings root beer is the best! My family loves it, and the service and delivery were great too!
We love Chownings root beer. It is the best! The price is a bit steep with the shipping costs so we cant order often but we order as often as we can. The service is excellent also!
We vacationed at Williamsburg many years ago and I’ve always remembered the first time I tasted the root beer; it was heavenly. We brought back a case to our home. Since last year was a very sad one, I decided to order another 12 bottle case —- even though I now live in Wisconsin. I now put only 2 bottles in the fridge or I’d drink it all.
