Inspiration
The Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg contains a small sampling of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century jewelry. The pieces are valued more for their beauty, or their historical associations, than their monetary worth. Precious and semiprecious stones - diamonds, rubies, emeralds, topaz, and garnets - were as highly prized in the colonial period as they are today, as were gold and silver. Pearls were popular in Early America, appearing in portraits, illustrations, and extant jewelry examples in our collections.

Fresh Water Pearl Necklace
I ordered this pearl necklace and I'm so happy I did! The pearls are beautiful, the necklace has an easy to use silver clasp and it's the perfect length. It comes in a plain white box and is protected inside that by a clear plastic bag. I will likely wear it by itself, but it could also be layered with other longer necklaces. This was a gift for myself.
