Product Care
Topaz gemstones are sensitive to heat and chemical changes. Clean them with a non-abrasive polishing cloth without solvents or warm, soapy water—ultrasonic and chemical cleaners should be avoided. Take care to avoid wearing or storing your topaz jewelry in extreme heat and long exposure to the sun or ultraviolet light, as this may alter the color of the stone. Remove your topaz jewelry before bathing, swimming, or exercising.

Colonial Williamsburg's DeWitt Wallace Collections and Conservation Building contains a small sampling of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century jewelry.
