About Silverhand Meadery
Glenn Lavender was first inspired to make mead after reading many books about the ancient beverage while on the road touring with his band. He quickly learned how to ferment honey for the production of the mead and gained a deeper understanding of the process with every batch. In 2012 Glenn and his wife Sherri took home two awards at the Mazer Cup, the largest mead competition in the world. This success gave them the confidence to forge ahead in creating Silverhand Meadery. Founded in 2015 in Williamsburg, Virginia, this local establishment ferments its mead, produces honey, and hosts educational tastings.
