Sustainability and Quality
We are very excited to be a part of the movement to make fabric production a safer and cleaner process for the planet and people. We are transitioning our reproduction fabrics over to a digitally printed process that is less impactful to the environment and is free of harmful chemicals. Our new digitally printed fabric meets OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 (look-up label #7099CIT). Learn more about this standard on the Oeko-Tex website.
We have worked closely with the same fabric mill that has always made our reproduction fabrics to assure our new digital prints retain the quality you have come to expect from the Colonial Williamsburg reproduction fabric line. Our digitally-printed fabrics are printed with fiber-reactive dyes - not pigments - and finished using the same process as our traditionally printed fabrics to assure colorfastness and minimize shrinkage. Our 100% cotton fabrics have a soft hand and drape and are lightweight.
Please note that our new digitally printed fabrics are not an exact match to the previous version of our fabrics. With the new digital prints we are able to include details that were previously not possible, such as texture variations in the brown ground of the original garment. We have also changed the base fabric to a lighter weight to align more closely with the original dress in our collections. We suggest purchasing the full yardage you need for your project.

Reproduction fabric
I Love all the fabric that I have bought from colonial Williamsburg reproduction fabrics. They’re beautiful historically correct and I love making costumes out of them. I however wish that she would offer more of a variety. Perhaps it’s not the best for me because I would buy everything insight.
