Inspiration
The basic process of weaving cloth has remained the same since its beginning in the ancient times. The weft threads are interlaced through warp threads strung of a frame or loom. What was once a long, slow process of handwork, making cloth expensive and valuable, is now automated. Today most cloth for our clothes, curtains, and sheets are made by huge, fast industrial looms that can weave more than six rows a second. Hand weaving is an admired tradition kept alive in many parts of the world and is also practiced as a contemporary art form.
