Inspiration
With the onset of war in 1775, Virginia began to train an army to defend against a British invasion. Fifers and Drummers were an important part of the 18th-century military. Just as Virginia enlisted soldiers and stockpiled arms and ammunition, it also trained fifers and drummers to work with soldiers in the field. In the 18th century, fifers and drummers tended to be boys ages 10 to 18. Today, in modern Williamsburg, members of the Fifes and Drums are boys and girls ages 10 to 18.

Fife & Drum Blanket
When my wife received the blanket she was ecstatic as she has always ben a strong fan of the Fifes and Drums group when she visits CW. When she found out it was made in Binghamton, New York she was even more excited as we both grew up in Norwich, New York just 40 miles north of Binghamton. The quality is outstanding and the weight prefect for wrapping up in a cold winter's evening.

Bought one of these a couple years ago. Terrific blanket. Very well made. Very warm. Bought one for my sister this past summer. She loves it and lounges around her house all snuggled under it with her doggie.
