Inspiration
Eighteenth-century Williamsburg was the home of many ardent gardeners and plant collectors who often exchanged seeds with fellow enthusiasts in Great Britain. Lavender was grown in the gardens of Williamsburg during the 18th century and was used in household goods, such as soaps, and remedies blended by the Apothecary. Today, you can see lavender blooming throughout the restored Historic Area of Colonial Williamsburg.
