This set of two Pink Chinoiserie Candlesticks will add traditional charm and a pop of color to your tabletop! Each candlestick is painted with a "web" lattice pattern, a traditional scale motif. Great for adding a lighted element to seasonal displays or on the mantel. For use with battery-operated taper candles, such as these Raz taper candles also sold in our shop. Each taper candle holder measures 2.5 inches high and 3.5 inches in diameter. Made of glazed clay. Imported.
Inspiration
These candlesticks feature a classic design inspired by the Chinoiserie style, which European manufacturers developed as a lower-cost export for the American colonies. The designs were roughly copied from more refined and delicate originals from China. Numerous examples of Chinoiserie are on display at the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg.
