This Pink Chinoiserie Vase is a re-interpretation of the classic blue-and-white chinoiserie style popular in the 18th century, rendered in trendy pink colors! This vase features a classic pattern of a climbing vine with birds, with a leaf scale border at the top. The vase measures 12.5 inches tall and 7.5 inches in diameter, with a 3-inch diameter opening. It's perfect for displaying tall flower stems. We love white floral stems or a magnolia branch in this vase as a balance to the vibrant pink. Made of water-sealed clay. Imported. Inspiration
This vase features a classic design inspired by the Chinoiserie style, which European manufacturers developed as a lower-cost export for the American colonies. The designs were roughly copied from more refined and delicate originals from China. Numerous examples of Chinoiserie are on display at the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg.
