This brass ship’s candlestick, also known as a gimbaled candlestick, is constructed in such a way as to follow the motion of a ship. The position of the candle adjusts to a vertical position, no matter the conditions. The candlestick has a thumb grip for ease of carrying but also has a ring to allow it to be hung. In doing so, the dish of the candlestick is set adjacent to the stem and doubles in use as a reflector.
