Product Description
This Vaillancourt Chalkware Bunny Pulling Cart with Hen and Eggs will make a charming addition to your Easter, Passover, and spring celebrations! This chalkware piece, made from an antique chocolate mold, is meticulously hand-painted by the artisans at Vaillancourt. The brown and white bunny pulls a cart with a hen and eggs dyed with onion skins. Dying eggs with onion skins likely originated in ancient Persia and was adopted by Slavic cultures. We love this folk art bunny on a sideboard or mantle amongst flowers for an artful and traditional spring statement. Made in the USA.

Inspiration
Each piece of chalkware begins in an antique chocolate mold from the Vaillancourt collection. The piece is then re-sculpted with new details and motifs, filled with a plaster-like substance, and dried. The resulting "chalkware" is then hand-painted, bringing to life the mold maker's intricate artistry. Vaillancourt's chalkware figurines are inspired by the collections of The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum.
