Product Description
This Vaillancourt Chalkware Bunny Pushing Lambs in a Wheelbarrow captures one of our favorite spring happenings at Colonial Williamsburg - the lambing season! We welcome new Leicester Longwool lambs to our Rare Breeds program in the spring each year. This Vaillancourt sculpture features a small brown rabbit transporting two adorable lambs in a green cart. This chalkware piece, made from an antique chocolate mold, is meticulously hand-painted by the artisans at Vaillancourt. We love this folk art bunny on a sideboard or mantle amongst flowers for an artful and traditional spring statement. Made in the USA.

Inspiration
Each piece of chalkware begins in an antique chocolate mold from the Vaillancourt collection. The piece is then re-sculpted with new details and motifs, filled with a plaster-like substance, and dried. The resulting "chalkware" is then hand-painted, bringing to life the mold maker's intricate artistry. Vaillancourt's chalkware figurines are inspired by the collections of The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum.
