Inspiration
The witches heart motif - a heart with a tail that twists to the side - has been in used in several forms since the 15th century, originating in Scotland as a protective charm for babies. In the 18th century, the double heart motif emerged as a token of love in the form of jewelry, signaling that the giver was "bewitched" by the recipient. Several pieces of jewelry in our collections include single and double witches heart motifs.
