Cider was a widely consumed drink in the 18th century, as apples were one of the first crops grown in the New World. Cider mills and orchards were prevalent in New England, and Thomas Jefferson grew several varieties of apples, and his wife Martha oversaw the harvest and brewing on their plantation.

I ordered this candle thinking it would be the same scent as the Warm Apple Cider scent that I've loved for years (thought it had just been renamed). It does smell good, but not the same as the one I remembered. I'm sorry for waiting so long to order - covid prevented our annual trip!
Love the fragments
Ordered this candle and it smells so good! I burned it for about an hour and half, just long enough to burn the first part all the way around the wick. The oils in the candle last a long time because I could still get a hint of the apple cider the next day. Love this scent.
Read the review of the broken box and melted candle. I think that would be a postal service issue and not Colonial Williamsburg issue. They certainly don't have power over how the post office treats packages once they are mail. I know I've had a lot of boxes/orders ruined due to bad postal handling but this order came in nicely. Great candle!
The box came crushed although marked fragile handle with care. The candle had fallen on its side - melted and the wax and oils from the candle leaked out of the jar - the label was completely gone. These were planned to be a gift - no way could I give these to anybody and I don't even think they will burn properly. because the wax inside the candle is tilted to one side and the wick is under the wax. The oils from the candle got everywhere - it was a mess!! I will never order candles again in July if you can't provide the proper packaging and handling!
