Product Care
You may notice a white film on the surface of your beeswax candles called "bloom". Bloom is not a defect but a process that occurs naturally on the surface of 100% beeswax candles. To remove the bloom, rub the surface gently with a soft cloth. Or, allow the bloom to continue for a snowflake like texture on the surface of your candles.
Inspiration
In colonial times, candles were a necessity for every household. The most commonly used tallow candles burned quickly, gave out a dim light, and had a grim odor. Not only did beeswax candles smell sweet, they also burned cleaner and longer than tallow candles, and gave out a brighter light. Unfortunately, they were a luxury only the very wealthy could afford, because beeswax was expensive.

Red Taper Beeswax candles
These candles were not the cranberry red color depicted on the website listing. They were more of a deep wine color bordering on purple. Further, one set of them was covered with a white film that simply would not wipe off or rinse off. Unusable even had the color been right. A real disappointment. Both sets were returned.

Red Taper Beeswax Candles
I love the beeswax candles. I normally get the cream color ones or I will get the bayberry ones for the holiday's. My husband loves burning these in one of my glass handblown candle holder that I got at Jamestown. He and I both have had other tapered candles but love the beeswax the best. So I keep them on hand.
