Product Care
You may notice a white film on the surface of your beeswax candles, known as "bloom." Bloom is not a defect, but a natural process that occurs on the surface of 100% beeswax candles. To remove bloom, gently rub the surface with a soft cloth. Or, allow the bloom to continue for a snowflake-like texture on the surface of your candles.
Inspiration
In colonial times, candles were a necessity for every household. The most common tallow candles burned quickly, produced dim light, and had a pungent odor. Beeswax candles not only smelled sweet, but also burned cleaner and longer than tallow candles, giving off a brighter light. Beeswax candles were a luxury only the very wealthy could afford.

These are a Christmas gift and I'm very surprised they did not come in a box. They could easily have been broken in the package in which they arrived.
