Inspiration

James Guy Evans painted the beautiful brig Brig Georgiana in 1846. His painting resides in Colonial Williamsburg's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum collection. Also in our Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum is an original oil canvas of the schooner America , which won the first formal race between British and American yachts in 1851 and later sailed for North and South during the Civil War.
