Ingredients

Our all-natural soaps are free of animal products and made with a vegetable soap base of shea butter, cocoa butter, olive oil, grapeseed oil, and fragrance.

Inspiration

Eighteenth-century Williamsburg residents occasionally made their own soap by boiling lime-ash and fat products over an outdoor fire. However, those who could afford them preferred the finer imported soaps available from local merchants. Imported soaps were generally scented and colored. Some were even stamped with decorative emblems or trademarks, signifying the highest quality. During the colonial period, soap made from olive oil was considered the mildest and finest available. Our Historic Soap Bar Set includes triple-milled vegetable soaps enriched with virgin olive oil, as they were in the 18th century.
