Product Description
Young girls traditionally stitched samplers to practice and display their embroidery skills, and the activity remained popular through the 19th century. Patterns and designs for samplers were handed down from generation to generation. Today, the tradition of making samplers is experiencing a revival as a reminder of the rich heritage of our past. Inspired by various traditional American samplers, this calendar sampler kit designed exclusively for us by Posy Lough invokes many images of Colonial Williamsburg throughout the year. It encourages stitchers of all ages to create a family heirloom for future generations.
This embroidery kit includes pre-printed 12" x 14" cotton fabric, one needle, cotton floss, instructions, and a description of the icons selected for each month. The embroidery hoop shown in the picture is not included.
