This artificial Pine, Berry, and Red Cardinal Holiday Pick is inspired by one of our avian residents at Colonial Williamsburg, the cardinal. Cardinals can be seen in the Historic Area at Colonial Williamsburg year-round, but their vivid colors stand out most in winter, when snow-covered trees and holly bushes provide shelter and sustenance. This holiday floral arrangement includes pine branches, pine cones, red berries, and a single cardinal. We love it mixed with other green stems, such as magnolia leaves or pine, or tucked into garlands or other decorations. Measures 18" H. Made from plastic, polyester, foam, wire, pine cones, and dyed feathers. Imported.

Inspiration
The custom of affixing fruits, such as pomegranates, vegetables, dried flowers, herbs, and other plant life to basic Christmas forms like wreaths, swags, and roping traces its roots to the early years of the 20th century, a time when Christmas was growing in significance, and the Colonial Revival was pulling decorative impulses back toward the 18th century.
