Inspiration
The most famous historical event at the Powder Magazine was the Gunpowder Incident of 1775, when the Royal Governor of Virginia, John Murray, Earl of Dunmore, fearing revolt, seized the gunpowder stores from the powder magazine in the middle of the night. As the word got out, the resulting confrontation between Lord Dunmore and a militia led by Patrick Henry became a pivotal moment for the American Revolution, lighting the fuse for war in Virginia.
