Inspiration
Maple syrup is an original American creation. Although maple trees have grown in Europe for centuries, Europeans didn't realize the usefulness of its sap until American Indians taught colonists how to tap the trees. Native tribes had long been using maple sap as a sugar source, and began trading what they called sweetwater with the colonists. It wasn't long before maple sugar and maple syrup became staples of American cooking.

Corn Syrup is First Ingredient
With the name, ‘Nature’s Garden’, I expected 100 percent syrup with pecan flavor added. But, the first ingredient is corn syrup, followed by: maple syrup, natural praline flavor, water, natural butter flavor, natural maple flavor, caramel color. It tastes good; I just expected 100 percent maple syrup.
