Once upon a time, chambersticks guided guests to their sleeping quarters (18th-century flashlights, if you will). Now they usually serve a more decorative purpose, like this Pineapple Chamberstick, a wonderful addition to your guest room or holiday decor.

Dust with soft cloth.
The pineapple was an exotic, expensive delicacy in 18th-century Virginia. Served only on special occasions, it became the ultimate symbol of hospitality. As such, it also became a popular decorative motif in colonial homes. Lovely pineapple designs were embroidered on textiles, carved on furniture, cast in silver and incorporated into architectural elements.

I love the "candle holders": my only disappointment was that they didn't come with a candle as pictured. Also, there was not prompt telling consumer candles needed to be ordered as well. ***Response from The Shops at Colonial Williamsburg: Thank you for alerting us to this error in our product listing!
