Wavy Floral Reproduction Fabric is inspired by a block printed cotton gown dating to 1780 in The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation's textile collections. The design features undulating and intertwining vines with thin floral trails in colors of brown, olive green, yellow, purple, blue, and red. Wavy Floral 18th century reproduction fabric is a wonderful choice for your next home decorating, quilting, or 18th century costume project. This fabric is especially lovely as an 18th century gown, wrapper, or waistcoat.

Please note: Fabric is sold by the yard and is not returnable. Multiple yards will be cut in one continuous piece. A maximum of 25 yards per cut applies to this product. 

Product Care

Wash by hand or on the gentle cycle in cool water. Line dry or tumble dry on air or low heat. Iron on the reverse side of the print on low. Do not use bleach.

Inspiration

Artisans of the 18th century often combined classical and natural elements, rendering the curving scroll shape in the form of gracefully flowing flowers, leaves, and vines. The original gown that inspired our reproduction fabric is held in The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation's textile collection (object #1991-45). See the original in our digital collections here.

Our fabrics are digitally printed with fiber-reactive dyes - not pigments - to ensure better color fastness over time. We have worked closely with the company that previously made our traditionally printed fabrics to ensure our digital prints are as good as the originals.
