Cascading Floral Stripe Fabric is a reproduction of a French woodblock-printed textile circa 1775-1800 held in our collections. This fabric is composed of red, white and black-brown, and the pattern alternates between florals and diamond stripes. A wonderful fabric for 18th century gowns, quilts, and household furnishings. The fabric is a medium to lightweight quilting cotton with a soft hand.

Machine wash warm, tumble dry on low, warm iron.Do not use chlorine bleach.

Cascading Floral Stripe is reproduced from a textile fragment of a French woodblock-printed design circa 1775-1800. (Object #1966-481) Description from the curator: "Coarse plain-woven cotton textile blockprinted in madder reds and browns on off-white ground. Two different vertical floral stripes alternate with stripes composed of diamond lozenges. The selvages are folded under at both sides with remnants of seam stitching still in place."
