Inspiration
For colonists chafing under imperial rule, the Stamp Act was the last straw. The original teapot that inspired ours was produced for the American market by British manufacturers to commemorate the repeal of the Act in March of 1766. Charming Reproduction
Well this is a lovely reproduction. Much nicer than previously made varieties. Nicely made creamware with correct painted design like the originals. I'm so glad I purchased one finally. I will say it does hold 20oz but be aware that's literally to the rim, with the lid in place with 20oz it'll pour out the lid before the spout. So consider this a 2 cup teapot by today's standard, but its not practical for 20oz. Its primarily for display, with occasional use, and its original style makes it a great buy, great value. The teapot sits perfectly in a well cushioned and well protected box.
