Inspiration
This exquisitely detailed squirrel is similar to one from a 1771 edition of a book by 18th-century explorer and naturalist Mark Catesby. The Natural History of Carolina, Florida, and the Bahama Islands is part of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation collections. The book provides one of the most complete records of colonial American flora and fauna.
