The Raleigh Tavern, which was established about 1717, was one of the most important taverns in colonial Virginia. During "Publick Times," when the courts were in session, it served as the center of social and political activity. Its location near the Capitol and its proprietors' sympathy for the colonists' cause made it a gathering place for burgesses during the 1760s and 1770s. A treasured culinary delight whenever you visit Colonial Williamsburg's Historic Area is a visit to the Raleigh Tavern Bakery just behind the Raleigh Tavern, where "ginger cakes" are a must-have treat.

Wonderful scent-would definitely purchase again!
We first bought these candles on a visit to CW a few years ago. One for myself, one for my sister in law, and one for my sister. We all loved them. They are the only candle that fills my home with scent. Our house has a large 2story foyer, a 2story family room and is very open concept. Most scented candles can’t be smelled a few feet away. This one makes the entire house smell amazing. Plus, you can burn it for hours without the wax evaporating away (I.e. very long lasting). I have re-ordered them 6 at a time whenever they go on sale. When I give them as gifts (which is rare because I am hoarding them for myself) the recipient always gets hooked, too.
My favorite scented candle. I also love to support Colonial Williamsburg.
