Product Care
You may notice a white film on the surface of your beeswax candles, known as "bloom." Bloom is not a defect, but a natural process that occurs on the surface of 100% beeswax candles. To remove the bloom, rub the surface gently with a soft cloth. Or allow the bloom to continue for a snowflake-like texture on your candles' surfaces.
Inspiration
In an era before oil lamps and electricity, candles were a necessity for every 18th-century household. The most commonly used tallow candles burned quickly, produced a dim light, and had a pungent odor. Not only did beeswax candles smell sweet, but they also burned cleaner and longer than tallow candles, giving off a brighter light. Beeswax candles were a luxury only the very wealthy could afford.
