Summer Heat Advisory: Many of our candles are made with natural wax. During the summer months, melting can occur in some geographic locations. If there is high heat in your area, we highly recommend waiting to order candles until the fall. We cannot replace candles that melt during shipping.
Product Care
You may notice a white film on the surface of your beeswax candles, known as "bloom." Bloom is not a defect, but a natural process that occurs on the surface of 100% beeswax candles. To remove the bloom, rub the surface gently with a soft cloth. Or allow the bloom to continue for a snowflake-like texture on your candles' surfaces.
Inspiration
In an era before oil lamps and electricity, candles were a necessity for every 18th-century household. The most commonly used tallow candles burned quickly, produced a dim light, and had a pungent odor. Not only did beeswax candles smell sweet, but they also burned cleaner and longer than tallow candles, giving off a brighter light. Beeswax candles were a luxury only the very wealthy could afford.
