I absolutely love the book and it gave me some insight of the man who brought Thomas Jefferson to life for me. When reading it I could hear his voice. :)
Mr. Barker’s eloquent storytelling and the vibrant photos draw us into his intriguing journey of historical interpretation. Whether meeting Mr. Barker as Jefferson or as himself, you can tell he really enjoys what he does, which makes the history he teaches a delight for all. May he continue to bless us with his expertise in Thomas Jefferson for a long time.
Bill Barker presents an interesting story about his life's work: helping us better understand Thomas Jefferson.
This book was better than expected. I’d been curious about it for a while, but worried since it was a CW publication it would be just another glorified picture book in pretty binding meant for tourists. I was pleasantly surprised. The book is a great mix between Historical information about Thomas Jefferson and the personal/professional experiences of the author. It’s also well written and organized. I had a fun time reading this book.
I loved the book. I had the privilege of attending Mr. Barker’s performance only one time many years ago at Colonial Williamsburg. It was an unforgettable experience so I was very happy to see this book. I enjoyed the behind-the-scenes look at bringing Jefferson to life, which Mr. Barker did so brilliantly and realistically. On a side note, I was thrilled to learn that Mr. Barker had moved on to Monticello. After all his years of being Jefferson, it was good and right and appropriate in every way that he would transition there and I’m glad it happened. The real Thomas Jefferson would approve!
